I typed sync blinklist w/ delicious and found your blog.

I like blinklist and delicious but have been using blinklist alone for a long time. I have always been able to move my bookmarks from one social bookmarking site to another, but when I got to blinklist, I couldn't do it anylonger. Why? They don't have the option to export bookmarks. They allow you to backup in a xml, blinklist format, that's all.

I like blinklist but I wish I could have the freedom to take my bookmarks with me to another one if I wished.

The sexy URIs are spreading to other portions of the site and will soon cover all aspects of the service. I agree, pretty URIs are nice and more than nice, but there are also other cool and advanced features I'm working on that other services don't have yet.

Hi Sandip,
Thanks for all of your comments and feedback on BlinkList! You are right, we are constantly making improvements to our service.

1) Regarding the tag clouds. Yes, it is now gone from the discovery pages and we replaced it with our all new tagtree, a far easier and superior way to navigate through tags.

2) While links are important, I think that getting to your links is even more important, which is why we have the additional navigational aides on the left. We are just following best practices when it comes to navigation and I think the best practices are not other small web 2.0 sites.

3) Regarding non-logged in users, you are right, we should think of making the top header a bit smaller. However, there is an easy fix, just join BlinkList. ;)

4) Yes, hiding the tag cloud on your personal page is easy. Our tag manager gives you 4 tabs to choose from, including the ability to star your favorite links and tags.

5) The advanced search link is not a link. It just gives you the instructions on how to use advanced search commands in the search box. Read it again. If it still does not make sense let me know and will make it more clear.

Thanks again for taking the time to check out BlinkList and for writing such a great review!

Wow.

Hey Otis, I see what you mean. But why arent you making "Sexy URIs" the default?

I mean, this is a killer feature, and something people would actually love to use. I remember seeing this as a required feature in someone else's social bookmark comparison.

Sandip, it looks like you missed this: http://blog.simpy.com/blojsom/blog/2005/11/04/Sexy-URIs.html

I'm happy that's your only concern :). Have you checked out Topics (aka Watchlists) with their limitless Topic Filters? How about Groups? Or Notes? Or Link History? Or full-text search with more operators than all other social bookmark sites combined. How about tag unions, intersections, and so on?
